EZCORDS

EZCORDS makes cables for phone systems, and this category lists several. Examples are a 4 analog cheater cord, a 2 analog by 2 digital cheater cord, a 4 digital cheater cord and the DHLC4 NS700 translation cable.

Installers use them to connect a phone system to a patch panel without hand-wiring each port. A cheater cord splits one cable into several. Check analog and digital counts against your cards. Contact KX-TD at (866) 205-4112.

Before you order

  • Count analog and digital ports. Cheater cords are listed as 4 analog, 4 digital and 2 analog by 2 digital, so match them to the cards in your cabinet.
  • Check the cord part number. KX-RJ5162, KX-RJ5170 and similar cords are made for a named system or card, such as the KX-NS5162 or the KX-NS5180.
  • Look at the connector types. Some cords end in TCP/IP or 4W-TEL connectors, so check both ends.
  • Not sure? Send your system and card model to (866) 205-4112 and we will confirm the cord.

EZCORDS buying guide

What a cheater cord does

A cheater cord connects several ports on a phone system card to a patch panel or block with one cable. That saves hand wiring each port. Cords are labeled by the mix of ports they carry, such as 4 digital or 2 analog by 2 digital, so the label tells you which card it suits.

Cords made for Panasonic KX-NS systems

The KX-RJ series cords are made for specific Panasonic KX-NS cards and built in extension ports. Examples are the KX-RJ5162 for KX-NS5162 and the KX-RJ5180 for KX-NS5180. Read the model in the product name and compare it to the card you are connecting.

TCP/IP and 4W-TEL cords

Several EZ8000 cords carry TCP/IP or 4W-TEL connections on one or both ends. The DHLC4 NS700 translation cable is a different part again. These are specialized parts. Confirm both end types against your equipment, and note the connector counts before you order, since a mismatch means the cord will not plug in. Send us the model if you want a second check.

Common questions

Will a cheater cord work on any phone system?

No. Each cord is built for certain card types and connector layouts, so match it to your card.

What is the difference between analog and digital ports?

Analog ports serve standard phones and fax machines. Digital ports serve the system's own digital phones. Cords must match the port type.

Can you confirm the right cord for me?

Yes. Send the system model and card type through technical support and we will check it.
