VALCOM

Valcom speakers in this category connect straight to the network. Choices include the IP Flexhorn paging horn for InformaCast, an 8 inch round one-way IP ceiling speaker and a woodgrain talkback wall speaker.

Schools and hospitals use IP paging speakers to avoid running separate paging wire, since each unit needs only a network connection. Talkback models let staff answer back from the room. Check your PoE budget when planning. KX-TD can help you plan at (866) 205-4112.

Before you order

  • Match the speaker to the amplifier. Many Valcom speakers here are 25/70 volt, so confirm your amplifier or zone controller uses the same line voltage.
  • Pick the right mount. Lay-in ceiling speakers, pendant, track, wall and horn models mount differently, and some need a backbox, bridge or mounting ring ordered separately.
  • Check the environment. Warehouses, docks and marine areas may call for a horn, a vandal resistant enclosure or an explosion proof model.
  • Not sure? Send us your paging system model and we will help match speakers to it.

VALCOM Paging and Intercom Speakers buying guide

Ceiling and wall speakers

Office and school paging usually uses ceiling speakers. This category lists 2x2 lay-in speakers with a backbox, 8 inch speakers with a 25 or 70 volt transformer, surface mount and pendant models, and wall speakers. Count your zones and rooms first, then choose speaker types and quantities to match.

Horns for loud or outdoor areas

Paging horns carry sound across open, noisy spaces. Valcom horns here run from 1 to 15 watts, with FlexHorn, reentrant style, marine and explosion proof versions. Wire cages and vandal resistant enclosures are available for exposed spots. Pick the wattage for the size of the area and the background noise.

Talkback speakers and accessories

Talkback speakers let a person in the room answer a page, and come as desktop, wall, slimline and 8 inch ceiling units. Monitor speakers, voice coil door speakers and loud warble horns cover other jobs. Mounting parts such as backboxes, bridges, rings and square grills are sold separately. Check each product name for size and mounting details.

Before you order

Walk the building and list each area, the ceiling type and the noise level. Choose the speaker style for each space, then add the mounting parts. Confirm that the paging amplifier or zone controller can drive the total load. Our team can review the list if you send us the plan.

Common questions

What does 25/70 volt mean?

It is the line voltage of the speaker circuit. The speaker transformer and the amplifier must use the same voltage, so check your amplifier before ordering.

Do I need a backbox for a ceiling speaker?

Some lay-in models ship with a backbox and some do not. Backboxes, bridges and mounting rings are listed separately, so read each product name.

Are these speakers network based?

The IP models, such as the IP Flexhorn for InformaCast, connect over your network. Other listed speakers are analog and need an amplifier or paging controller.
