Access Points

Wireless coverage for a workplace starts with the access points in this category. You will find Ubiquiti UniFi models, the Access Point Micro and a UniFi Dream Machine, plus EnGenius Wi-Fi 6 outdoor units and power injectors.

Small businesses use them to fix weak Wi-Fi in a back office, cover a parking area or add guest access. PoE-powered units need only one network cable, which keeps installs simple. Call the KX-TD team at (866) 205-4112 to size a wireless plan for your building.

Before you order

  • Choose indoor or outdoor. Outdoor access points and radios are weather rated, while indoor models are meant for ceilings and walls.
  • Check the Wi-Fi standard. Models are listed as AC, Wi-Fi 6 and Wave 2, so check your devices support them.
  • Plan PoE. Most access points use PoE, so plan a PoE switch or injector.
  • Not sure? Send your site layout and we will help choose.

Access points buying guide

Indoor access points

Ubiquiti UniFi, EnGenius, Cambium Networks, Netgear and Grandstream list ceiling, wall and in-wall models. Coverage depends on walls and layout, so plan by area rather than by speed alone. Check the Wi-Fi standard and the number of devices each unit supports.

Outdoor access points

Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access points from Cambium, EnGenius, Netgear and Peplink cover yards and parking areas. Look for the weather rating, the antenna type and the mount in the listing, and plan the cable run and power for the location. Ask us about mounting options.

Point to point radios

Ubiquiti AirMax, NanoStation, RocketDish and AirFiber, plus EnGenius bridges, link buildings by radio. The two ends need a clear path, and the frequency band, such as 5 GHz, must match. Check the distance and antenna gain for your link. Plan both ends of the link before you order.

PoE injectors and parts

PoE injectors from Ubiquiti, Intellinet and EnGenius power the unit over one cable. Check wattage, since high power outdoor radios need more than a basic injector. Line cords, brackets and mounting kits are listed for several models. Check the connectors for your gear.

Common questions

Do I need a controller?

Some systems, such as UniFi, are managed by a controller or app. Standalone models work without.

What is a point to point radio?

It is a pair of radios that link two buildings. They need a clear path between them.

Can you help plan Wi-Fi coverage?

Yes. Use request a quote with your floor plan.
