Home / VOIP and UC / VoIP Gateways and ATAs / ADTRAN
ADTRAN IP business gateways are found in this category, including the NetVanta 6250 with 8 FXS ports and the Total Access 924e Gen 3 and TA 916E, some with a lifeline FXO port.
Businesses use them to keep analog phones, fax lines and alarm lines working while moving to VoIP. A lifeline FXO port gives a fallback phone line if the network fails. Need help with a gateway for a mixed analog and SIP site? Call the KX-TD team at (866) 205-4112.

An IP business gateway lets analog phones, fax machines and alarm lines work on a VoIP service. The Total Access 908e, 916E and 924e models differ by port count, and the NetVanta 6250 offers 8 FXS ports. Count every analog device first, then add a few spare ports.
FXS ports connect to analog devices such as phones. An FXO port connects to a phone line. The TA 916E with lifeline FXO and the 924e G3 with lifeline give you a fallback line during a network outage, which matters for alarm and emergency calls.
The rack mount bracket fits the Total Access 904 and 908 units. An 8 hour battery backup is also listed, and it helps keep a gateway running during a short power outage. A 12 FXS port router with a DSX-1 port suits sites with T1 style equipment.
The 908e, 916E and 924e share the same family, and the main difference is port count. If you are replacing a gateway, match the model and generation where you can, since settings often carry over more easily within the same family. Tell us what you are replacing and we can compare.
Often yes, but fax over VoIP depends on your provider and settings. Our technical support team can help you check.
Look at the 924e or 916E, since they offer more ports than the 908e. Send us your count and we will confirm.
