Routers

Routers and edge gear for small business networks are listed here. Items include Netgear Nighthawk and AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 routers, Vtech AC1600 dual band, an 8 port passive PoE router and an Ubiquiti GPON unit with four Ethernet ports.

Owners buy a router to connect an office to the internet, share a connection across staff or upgrade slow Wi-Fi. An Ethernet surge protector adds a layer of safety on outdoor runs. Choose speed ratings that fit your internet plan. Call the KX-TD team at (866) 205-4112.

Wi-Fi routers

Netgear, Linksys and ReadyNet routers cover homes and small offices. Listings include AC1200 dual band, AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 and a ReadyNet AC1000MS with 2 FXS ports for VoIP. Range extenders and a mesh extender help with coverage. Dual band routers use two radio bands.

Business and wired routers

Adtran NetVanta routers, including the 3140, 3148, 4148P and 4430, suit business networks. Ubiquiti EdgeRouter models add PoE ports. Peplink, SimpleWan and Teltonika appear too. Choose by the services you plan to route. Business routers may need setup by a technician.

Cellular and backup

Peplink lists a single cellular 5G mobile router. Teltonika has a CAT4 LTE 4G dual SIM WiFi router. These can add a backup path or serve a site without wired internet. Check which carrier bands the router supports. Some units add FXS ports for analog phones.

Before you order

Note your internet type and speed, the number of users and the devices you plan to connect. Decide if you need PoE ports, VoIP ports or cellular. Check the Wi-Fi standard on the label. Send us your setup and we will review the options.

Common questions

Do I need a business router or a home router?

Business routers add VPN, VoIP and management features. A home router is fine for simple small office use.

What does PoE on a router do?

It powers devices such as access points or phones over the Ethernet cable.

Can I use cellular as a backup?

Yes. A cellular router can serve as a failover link if you have a plan with a carrier.
